Taylor Swift Fall: 'Blank Space' Singer Slips While Walking Down Steps After New Year's Eve Performance
In addition to shaking off gossip and failed relationships, apparently Taylor Swift is also a pro at dusting off embarrassment.
The 25-year-old mega star almost suffered from a terrible slip and fall in front of hundreds of people after giving a performance in Times Square for "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2015."
According to TMZ video footage, the "Blank Space" singer was walking down a set of steps behind the stage when she suddenly tripped down the final few steps. Fortunately, the award-winning pop star was able to catch herself before she completely lost her balance.
She also appeared to keep a good attitude after by showing off a sly grin, giving a short wave and then laughing it off.
Afterward, Swift looked composed and confident when she joined Ryan Seacrest on stage just moments later to countdown to 2015. Swift and Seacrest also teased that they might share a New Year's Eve kiss at midnight, although their lips did not come close to each other.
Before the incident, Swift performed two of her hit singles "Welcome To New York" and "Shake It Off" during her Dec. 31, 2014, late-night performance. She was wearing a black sequin midriff and matching pants, along with a silver jacket.
For more than 100 years, New York City's Times Square has been a global staple in celebrating New Year's Eve. Since 1907, millions of people around the world have watched the New Year's Eve Ball drop at the stroke of midnight in the heart of Manhattan.
In 2014, the iconic New Year's Eve Ball was named The Gift of Fortitude, since it was designed with 2,688 Waterford Crystal triangles and illuminated by over 32,000 Philips Luxeon Rebel LED lights. According to the Times Square Ball's official website, the unique design uses "diamond cuts on either side of a crystal pillar to represent the inner attributes of resolve, courage and spirit necessary to triumph over adversity."
