Kanye West welcomed the New Year with the release of a new song for fans. Released at midnight, “Only One” is sung from his mother Donda’s perspective and is addressed to North, his daughter.

According to Hollywood Life, the song, featuring Paul McCartney, is made in the memory of Kanye’s mother, who passed away in 2007. He sings about his daughter and wife, Kim Kardashian, and how they are two angels.

“I talked to God about you, he said he sent you an angel/And look at/all that he gave you/You asked for one and you got two,” he sings as his mother.

He ends the song “Tell Nori about me” sung over and over again.

Kim expressed her love for the song via Twitter soon after it was released.

She also accompanied this with a photo on Instagram of Kanye with Nori. There are also other various photos of the family together.

Since his mother’s death and the birth of his daughter, Kanye has seen hope in his new life with his wife.

"After I lost my mother, there were times I felt like, I would put my life at risk. I felt like sometimes I didn't have something to live for," he told Kris Jenner, according to ABC News. "Now I have two really special people to live for, a whole family to live for. A whole world to live for."
