Amber Rose Receives Backlash for Shiloh Jolie Pitt #TransKid Hashtag
Amber Rose recently garnered some praise and backlash from Instagram users for a photo she posted of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's 8-year-old child, Shiloh, E! News reports.
On Tuesday, Dec. 30, Rose posted a photo of Shiloh attending Jolie's "Unbroken" premiere. In the photo, Shiloh can be seen sporting a tux and short hairstyle to resemble a boy.
Although it is unclear whether Shiloh fully identifies herself as male, both Jolie and Pitt have publicly supported Shiloh's decision to dress as a boy.
Rose also revealed via Instagram that she, too, is in support of Shiloh's masculine appearance and labeled the 8-year-old child as a #transkid -- a hashtag that TMZ suggests angered social media users due to the fact that neither Jolie nor Pitt has referred to John, Shiloh's preferred name, as such.
"How gorgeous is John Jolie Pitt?! Born into the perfect family for him. #TransKids #LoveurKidsNoMatterWhat#Support," Rose wrote on Instagram.
Rose later deleted the post following the online backlash.
Back in 2010, Pitt revealed to Oprah Winfrey that in addition to dressing like a boy, Shiloh also demanded that her parents address her as either John or Peter, People reports.
"She only wants to be called John. John or Peter. So it's a Peter Pan thing," he says. "So we've got to call her John. 'Shi, do you want ...' - 'John. I'm John.' And then I'll say, 'John, would you like some orange juice?' And she goes, 'No!'" Pitt said.
In a separate 2010 interview with Vanity Fair, Jolie revealed that Shiloh considers herself to be like her brothers, thus she and Pitt chose to dress her as a boy.
"She wants to be a boy," she said. "So we had to cut her hair. She likes to wear boys' everything. She thinks she's one of the brothers."
Neither Pitt or Jolie have publicly responded to Rose's Instagram post.
