West has yet to respond to the "Only One" Paul McCartney twitter frenzy.
Instead, West has issued a press release that explains how "Only One" was created.
In the press release obtained by Consequence of Sound, West explains that "Only One" -- a song about his daughter, North -- emerged during a moment in the studio when West felt as though his mother, Donda, was speaking through him to North.
"My mom was singing to me, and through me to my daughter," he said.
West insists that the lyrics to the song's chorus that read, "Hello, my only one. Just like the morning sun. You'll keep on rising till the sky knows your name," are lyrics that his mother created through him.
"Something powerful and undeniable had occurred through the power of music and of letting go. A message had been passed down through generations," concludes the press release.
