Sam Smith recently posted several Instagram photos of himself and his new beau, Jonathan Zeizel celebrating the new year in Australia, Us Weekly reports.

According to Us Weekly, Smith's romantic getaway was "filled with champagne, boat rides, and several intimate moments between the lovebirds!"

In one of the Instagram photos, Smith and Zeizel can be seen reenacting the famous "Titanic" boat scene between Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet.

Prior to the couple's vacation, Smith recently spoke publicly about his new beau to the Daily Mail and revealed that he first met Zeizel on the set of his "Like I can" video shoot.

"[Jonathan] was one of 20 extras," Smith said.

Smith first came out to the media back in May during an interview with The Fader.

At the time, he revealed that his debut album, "In the Lonely Hour" detailed his experience with "a guy that I fell in love with last year, and he didn't love me back. I think I'm over it now, but I was in a very dark place. I kept feeling lonely in the fact that I hadn't felt love before. I've felt the bad things."

Since then, Smith has risen out of that "dark place" and recently told Ellen Degeneres that he wishes to be a spokesperson for the gay community and as well as for people of other sexual orientation.

"I'm a singer and a songwriter. I get upset sometimes because I don't talk about it too much," he shared on the "Ellen Degeneres Show." "People say, 'he doesn't want to be a spokesperson for the gay community.' I do, of course I do. I want to be a spokesperson for everyone. Ya know, straight people, gay people, bisexual. I don't want to be limited."'
