Apple Watch, iWatch, smart watch -- whatever you call it, Apple's highly anticipated wearable tech may finally have a more specific release date than simply "early 2015," if a newly leaked, seemingly well-sourced rumor is correct.

That more specific release date for the Apple Watch might have just been narrowed to sometime in March 2015, if the several Apple Store employee sources telling tales out of school to 9to5Mac are right.

According to the Mac-centric blog, "sources familiar with" the Apple Watch's development are indicating that the wearable will have a release date and will be shipping in the U.S. and possibly on Apple Store shelves by the end of March.

Those sources reportedly say they know the release date window for the iWatch (it still just sounds better this way) due to the Apple Store's upcoming programs set to familiarize retail employees with the smart watch -- which, after all, will be both a brand new Apple mobile device and also a completely new, unfamiliar product category.

The program entails one or two employees from each Apple Store being sent for training in Apple's Cupertino headquarters (or to Apple offices in Austin, Texas) to get a hands-on introduction to the new Watch. This supposedly will begin on Feb. 9 and go until Feb. 16.

Those employees will then return to their respective Apple Stores to train coworkers on the Apple Watch a few days before the release date, and that larger pool of Apple Store employees will fill in the rest closer to the device's unveiling on the shelf.

The daisy-chain training method indicates that the Apple Watch will start shipping when the Apple Store employees are finished passing on their knowledge, which seems to be March.

Of course, Apple is reportedly still tinkering with Watch OS and the battery's charging apparatus, so delays are always still possible.

The Apple Watch will be available in standard, Sport and "Edition" editions, with several wristband styles as well. The Sport Watch was revealed to cost $349 retail, but other variants have not yet been priced by Apple yet.

However, previous leaked reports indicate the expensive Gold "Edition" Apple Watch could fetch up to $5,000, while the standard stainless steel Watch is expected to cost closer to $500.

Of course Apple has remained silent on these details, so check back for more developments as they happen.
