'Paddington' Star Nicole Kidman Reveals 'SNL' Crush That Went Wrong [Watch]
Nicole Kidman appeared on NBC's "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" Tuesday to promote her villainous role in the new animated comedy "Paddington" but got sidetracked when she brought up how she and Jimmy Fallon met as they each had very different recollections.
"I don't know if you remember this, but we met before," Fallon said to Kidman, according to the Wall Street Journal.
"Oh, I remember," Kidman responded. "Yeah, you tell your version (of the story)."
Around the time Kidman's movie "Bewitched" was being filmed roughly 10 years ago, a mutual friend took Kidman to Fallon's bachelor pad in New York City for an introduction. Fallon thought the actress wanted him to have a role in "Bewitched."
Kidman revealed on Tuesday, however, that her intentions were more romantic; she had a crush on the "Saturday Night Live" cast member and hoped to date him.
"I just remember that I liked you," Kidman said to a baffled Fallon. "Rick, our mutual friend, says, 'oh, Jimmy wants to meet you, and you can go over to his apartment. ...' And I'm single, and I'm like, 'OK, yeah, cool.'"
Fallon was delightfully blown away by Kidman's disclosure.
The two stars then focused on the humorous memories of their meeting.
Fallon was told by the friend to get "Brie cheese," which he admitted to not knowing what it was at the time, so he did not get the cheese.
Kidman recalled how Fallon wore a baseball cap, didn't talk and switched on a video game in the middle of the visit.
Embarrassed over his shoddy behavior while hosting the Oscar-winning actress a decade ago, Fallon hid under his desk.
Kidman said that after about an hour and a half in his apartment she felt he had no interest and it was time to leave.
Kidman married country star Keith Urban in 2006. Fallon and movie producer Nancy Juvonen married in 2007. Both couples now have children.
