The Boston Celtics continue to tweak their roster in the hope of getting pieces for their rebuilding process.

Reports indicated the Celtics parted ways with Brandan Wright and are in talks with the Memphis Grizzlies for a deal involving Jeff Green.

The Celtics traded Wright to the Suns in exchange for a protected first-round pick that originally belongs to the Minnesota Timberwolves. The first-round pick is Top 12-protected this year and next year and could turn into a pair of second round picks in 2016 and 2017.

Wright, who is averaging 7.5 points to go along with 3.6 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game this season, was acquired by the Celtics in the deal that sent Rajon Rondo to the Dallas Mavericks.

Suns coach Jeff Hornacek, whose team is currently holding onto the eighth spot in the Western Conference standings with their 22-17 record, said that the 27-year-old forward would be a great fit to their team moving forward.

"The way Dallas played last year is somewhat similar to what we play -- being in the open court and pick-and-rolls," Hornacek said of Wright via ESPN. "Brandan does a great job of rolling to the basket and catching the ball and either dunking it or he's got a little jumper, so he can shoot it."

Meanwhile, Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports reported the Celtics are also close to striking a deal with the Grizzlies in a trade involving the New Orleans Hornets.

Sources said the three teams are talking about a deal that would send Green to Memphis. The Celtics would acquire Tayshaun Prince and a future first-round pick from the Grizzlies and John Salmons from the Hornets.

The Grizzlies would also send Quincy Pondexter to the Pelicans, while New Orleans would send Russ Smith to Memphis. Sources also indicated the Celtics and Grizzlies could complete the deal without involving the Pelicans.

The Grizzlies have been trying to trade for Green over the past several days. Miami Heat forward Luol Deng is also on their radar, but the reigning Eastern Conference champions are not willing to trade the veteran at this point.

Green, who is averaging 17.6 points to go along with 4.3 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game this season, would give Memphis a much-needed boost to their wing rotation.
