The 72nd Annual Golden Globe Awards kicked off at the Beverly Hills Hilton in Los Angeles on Sunday to a crowded house of tinsel town's elite.

History was made and there were some surprise wins: The folks at Amazon triumphed for the first time ever with their comedy-drama series "Transparent," and the show's star Jeffrey Tambor received Golden Globe Award for Best Actor - Television Series Musical or Comedy while Richard Linklater's "Boyhood," the first ever time-lapse film, took home three trophies, including Best Motion Picture, Drama.
