The NFL will kick off its 10th anniversary year with an hour long pre-game performance.

And what better way to kick off the historic season than a performance with multi-platinum singer Mariah Carey.

Carey will perform at 7:30 p.m. ET on NFL Network from Rockefeller Center.

Reportedly, Carey will perform five songs, including her latest single "Triumphant (Get 'Em)" from an album to be released in 2013.

Carey has not released an album since 2009 and has 18 No. 1 singles.

Earlier this summer, Carey joined "American Idol" as a judge.

FOX Entertainment president Kevin Reilly was overjoyed with the newest addition to the judging panel.

"I think it's the biggest recording artist that any of these shows have ever had," Reilly said. "It's an artist that many contestants have tried to emulate, have tried to sing [her] songs, have tried to hit the notes. Because [the deal] really only concluded hours ago, our new judge couldn't be with us."

"I am so excited to be joining 'Idol,'" Carey said, according to THR. "I can't wait to get started."

Carey gave birth to twins on April 30, the same day she celebrates her wedding anniversary with Nick Cannon.
