Houston Rockets head coach Kevin McHale is putting the pressure on star point guard Jeremy Lin to perform this season after telling the Houston Chronicle that there are "two starting point guards" on the team.

McHale was referring to Patrick Beverley, a player who fared much better in the playoffs as opposed to the regular season. Lin, on the other hand, averaged more points per game during the regular season than he did in the playoffs.

"We have different strengths," Lin said, according to the newspaper. "[Beverley] is such a good defender and shooter. I am better with the ball in my hands, attacking. I think that makes us tough to scout, and it gives us the opportunity to give a lot of different looks."

The Rockets are entering the upcoming season with a big facelift after the team signed star Dwight Howard in the offseason. Howard, who left the Lakers following controversy, also said he believes it doesn't really matter who starts as long as both guys play well.

"It's a good problem to have two guys that are capable of coming in and making plays and starting," Dwight Howard said, according to the Chronicle. "I think they just shouldn't worry about who starts. They should keep focused on what they can do in the game because that is what will help us win. We are lucky to have them both."

The Rockets will tip off their official season on Oct. 30 when the Charlotte Bobcats will travel to Houston for the 8 p.m. ET opener.
