Marvel Studios has just released the first trailer of its upcoming film Captain America: The Winter Soldier and it offered a glimpse of what Steve Rogers is up to.

The sequel to the 2011 smash hit movie Captain America: the First Avenger is set to hit theatres next year, with still the same amount of action. Reprising the role of Captain America is Chris Evans, while Scarlett Johansson joins him as Black Widow. Anthony Mackie will play new ally Falcon, Samuel L. Jackson will return as Nick Fury, while Sebastian Stan will play lead villain Winter Soldier.

The trailer released yesterday shows Captain America as he tries to fit in in the modern world. For fans who want to see more action, the trailer delivers that - packed with enough fire and explosions, jumping from planes and buildings, and shield throwing.

Rolling Stones gives this brief description about the film:

[Winter] Soldier finds Steve Rogers - that's Mr. America to you - living in Washington, D.C. after the cataclysmic events that concluded The Avengers. But when a S.H.I.E.L.D. colleague comes under attack, Rogers (Chris Evans) and the Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) enlist the help of the Falcon, a new ally played by Anthony Mackie.

The film will be based on the comic book written Ed Brubaker; and so far, the writer has nothing but praises for the movie adaptation.

"I read the script and I was really blown away by it," Ed told USA Today.

Anthony Mackie also told Rolling Stones in another interview that the sequel will be "kicking a lot of ass."

"It looks amazing. It's so much bigger than everyone thought it would be, and we're kicking a lot of ass," the actor noted.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier will be making its way to theatres on April 4, 2014.
