Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes enjoyed a comedy show at the Saban Theater in Beverly Hills, California on Saturday night, reports E! News.

The private couple made a rare public appearance Saturday night to attend the sold-out show starring legendary stand-up comedian Don Rickles.

It has been less than four months since the actress gave birth to a baby girl, Esmeralda Amada, and she looked stunning in a leopard-print dress with stylish wedges and a black purse.

The proud father looked handsome in a black and white suit worn with white shoes and a beard.

"Ryan and Eva seemed to be very in love and cute together," a source told E! News. "They stayed right by each other's side the whole time. They seemed happy and they laughed a ton at the show."

The night out could be the couple's last for quite some time as both are busy with work and parenthood. Mendes is designing a line of vintage-inspired jewelry for her New York & Company collection, which also features her clothing line. Gosling, Brad Pitt and Christian Bale are collaborating on a film version of "The Big Short," a Michael Lewis book about investors who made fortunes during the mortgage crisis of the previous decade.

The Cuban-born actress revealed in a November interview with Violet Grey how she and Gosling approach parenting.

"I'm doing it without a nanny for now, but I'm open to the idea of having a nanny in the future. Esmeralda has two amazing grandmothers and incredible aunties who come over and really help me. But as far as a nanny or a night nurse, for me that part of being a mother at this early stage is the struggle of not being able to sleep and not knowing what I'm doing and really going through it with her and battling out those nights," she said.

The couple did not seek help on was deciding their daughter's name, Mendes said. She and Gosling agreed on the name Esmerelda due to their shared admiration for the "Esmerelda character from the Victor Hugo novel 'The Hunchback of Notre Dame.'"
