Chris Martin, Gwyneth Paltrow Relationship: Coldplay Singer Accused of Running Over Papparazzi While Wife, Kids Watched
Coldplay singer Chris Martin is being accused of running over a photographer while his Hollywood superstar wife Gwyneth Paltrow and their two children looked on.
According to TMZ, the estranged couple was leaving the Giorgio Baldi Restaurant in Santa Monica over the weekend when the photographer emerged out of nowhere and began snapping pics of the "True Love" crooner and his family. As the couple pulled away, the photog claims he was struck by their jeep and an ambulance was called to transport him to a hospital.
The website adds oddly enough another photographer was standing directly across the street at the time of the incident and took photos of the alleged accident as it unfolded. Several media outlets have reported it's extremely rare for any photographers to position themselves across the street from the exclusive, high-end eatery.
The 42-year-old Martin and the 37-year-old Paltrow publicly announced last year they were splitting after more than 10 years of marriage.
"There was nothing dramatic or anything," Paltrow recently told Marie Claire. "I had built my life on trying to be all things to all people, and I just couldn't do it anymore. I really had the sense that I wasn't allowed to have needs, and I had to prove my specialness or self-worth by doing all this stuff and taking care of everybody else, and I just sort of hit a wall."
Still, since what Paltrow has termed their "conscious uncoupling," the couple has often been seen out and about together with their children, even though Martin was recently romantically linked to actress Jennifer Lawrence.
"We've worked really f***ing hard to get to this point," Paltrow also told Marie Claire. "But we're very, very close, and it's so nice. I feel like it's, in a way, the relationship we were meant to have."
Neither Martin nor Paltrow have commented on the alleged accident.
