Reggie Bush's Attorney Calls Claims that Detroit Lions Athlete Drugged Women 'Outrageous,' Demands Retraction
Reggie Bush's attorney is denying claims that his client drugged women while he was with Darren Sharper, who is being accused of rape in Las Vegas, the Detroit Free Press reports.
"This is outrageous," Bush's California-based attorney Shawn Holley said. "I can say to you on the record that Reggie adamantly, vehemently and unequivocally denies all of the statements in that article. We are demanding a retraction from The Advocate and Reggie is considering taking legal action."
The Louisiana-based Advocate posted on its website Saturday that Sharper's co-defendant, Brandon Licciardi, told investigators he saw Bush spike drinks of champagne with ecstasy at a Las Vegas night club.
Sharper and Bush both played on the New Orleans Saints from 2009-2010. Sharper is being investigated in five different states on rape allegations.
Currently, Bush has not been charged with any crimes in the case.
The Advocate quoted an FBI agent saying more investigations could be coming on the claims against Bush.
However, a spokesperson for the Las Vegas office of the Nevada Attorney General would not say whether or not there was any investigation involving Bush.
Bush currently plays for the Detroit Lions. The Lions have declined to comment on the report.
Holley had some harsh words on the allegations against his client, dismissing them as lies.
"There is no investigation, there's never been any complaint made by any person of this happening," Holley said. "It appears to be something that's being stated by someone who is a criminal defendant in a serious case and looking for anything he can say to deflect from his own troubles. But there is not a shred of truth to any of this."
On social media, Bush wrote he plans to take legal action against the Advocate if they do not take the article down.

In The Advocate article, Licciardi said, "OK, um, I was in Vegas about three years ago and um, Reggie Bush put Molly in Champagne. He was handing out Molly [ecstasy] on the dance floor to girls. Handing it out. Like giving it to them."
What do you think of these allegations against Reggie Bush? Are they valid or lies?
