Kanye West, self-appointed custodian of Beyonce's awards, gave two incredible performances and a repeat of his infamous Taylor Swift 2009 MTV VMAs moment, but this time involving veteran singer and songwriter Beck, at the 2015 Grammys on Sunday night.

Beck received the 2015 Album of the Year Grammy for "Morning Phase," beating West's good friend, Beyoncé, who had been nominated for her album "Beyoncé." In classic West fashion, he reacted to the news by running onto the stage to diss Beck but then deciding against it. The Grammys audience, especially Beyoncé and Jay Z, held its breath before realizing West was playing a prank.

The move brought to mind West's infamous 2009 MTV VMA moment when he ran on stage to interrupt Swift's acceptance speech for the Best Female Video award ("You Belong With Me"). He snatched the microphone from Swift, declaring, "Imma let you finish, but Beyonce had one of the greatest videos of all time."

But was West's objection of Beck's award really a joke? At E!'s Grammys post-show, West shared his thoughts on the moment, and his comments tell a different story.

"I just know that the Grammys, if they want real artists to keep coming back, they need to stop playing with us. We ain't gonna play with them no more. 'Flawless,' Beyonce video. And Beck needs to respect artistry and he should have given his award to Beyonce," Kanye told Access Hollywood. "And at this point, we [are] tired of it, because what happens is, when you keep on diminishing art and not respecting the craft and smacking people in their face after they deliver monumental feats of music, you're disrespectful to inspiration."

Kanye seemed to suggest his decision not to interrupt Beck's award acceptance was out of respect for his family.

"I got my wife, I got my daughter and I got my clothing line, so I'm not gonna do nothing to put my daughter at risk, but I am going to fight for creativity. That's the reason why I didn't say anything tonight. But y'all knew what it mean when 'Ye walked on that stage," he said.

NDTV reports Beck wasn't mad at West. He thought Beyonce was going to win the award.

As if that was not enough drama for Beck, his Wikipedia page was hacked by an angry Beyoncé fan who wrote that the "Heart Is A Drum" singer was the "stealer of the Album of the Year award" from "Beyonce Knowles, Queen of the World."
