Space Grey? Silver? These are some of the many questions looming for holiday shoppers who are looking to get their hands on an iPad Mini with Retina Display.

Apple can expect a much better holiday outlook than previously imagined now that the company managed to roll out the Retina display just in time for Black Friday sales. Apple had to rush in order to catch up with competitors that already started to offer tablets with much better displays.

The iPad Mini with Retina Display boasts a similar size in comparison with the original iPad Mini and is only going to be three-tenths of a millimeter thicker, according to Macworld. However, the new iPad Mini does weight 20 to 30 grams heavier than its predecessor.

The difference in weight likely won't matter considering that the bigger priority in this case is the screen. Apple rushed so quickly to put the iPad Mini on sale that they are not even yet available in stores. The iPad Mini with Retina Display remains exclusively available online until Apple is able to manufacture enough units for the stores.

Ross Rubin, who serves as the principal analyst at Reticle Research, said the new small tablets are pricey, yet worth it.

"At $399, the new iPad Mini is certainly one of the more expensive 8-inch tablets on the market and a few multiples of the price beyond the least expensive Android tablets," Ross said. "However, it includes premium components including the high-resolution display and high-end A7 processor."
