Rumored specs, features, release date and other details about the highly anticipated Samsung Galaxy S6 are beginning to solidify, as the Samsung Unpacked event date quickly approaches. This week, besides the usual rumor mill, we also saw some developments directly from Samsung, which is a pretty good place to get your Galaxy S6 rumors, of course.

On Thursday, SamMobile reported another exclusive with details on the upcoming premium Samsung flagship device, thanks to its inside sources. The Samsung-centric tech blog reported something pretty incredible, if you've ever bought a Samsung device before: "the removal of all pre-installed Samsung apps" (emphasis mine).

"Or at least that's how our insider put it," continued SamMobile, hedging its bets against an idea that sounds impossible on the face of it. The prevailing theory is that Samsung will drop its pre-installation of bloatware like S Voice (now less essential, given Google Now's capabilities), S Health, S Note and other similar apps, in favor of a less conventional approach to pre-installed software -- specifically in favor of preinstalled Microsoft apps, like OneNote, OneDrive, Skype and Office Mobile -- with a reported free Office 365 subscription (of unknown length) that comes with the phone. It's an interesting idea, especially considering Microsoft's shift towards being more open with other mobile operating systems, and especially its insinuation into the world of Android.

And perhaps Samsung's "Project Zero" approach to designing the Galaxy S6 includes a reappraisal of how much it's worth the company to pre-stuff new devices with non-uninstall-able software that users generally don't use, or only complain about. But for such a shift, we'll have to see it in real life -- perhaps on March 1, the expected unveiling date of the Galaxy S6 -- to believe it.

Meanwhile, it appears that the Galaxy S6's camera will have an important feature worth teasing, as Samsung tweeted a 17-second teaser video showing the camera lens of the upcoming device, followed by this tantalizingly-captioned image on Friday.

Is Samsung implying we can all be Batman, a la "The Dark Knight Rises," and escape foreign pit-prisons with the new GS6?

Probably not. SamMobile suggests Samsung is hyping new intelligent, one-click camera software -- coupled with a possible Optical Image Stabilization feature -- that should allow users to take pictures without making any adjustments.

Ironically, with Samsung repeatedly teasing the camera feature, the rumor mill still can't confirm, after months, whether it will be a 16-megapixel or 20-megapixel shooter. But it's just a couple weeks more to wait until we know everything.
