The New York Yankees are set to retire the numbers of former players, including Puerto Ricans Bernie Williams and Jorge Posada, in the 2015 MLB season.

Williams and Posada along with Andy Pettitte and Willie Randolph will also be honored with plaques in Monument Park, Fox News Latino reported.

Williams, who wore No. 51 during his entire 16-year major-league career with the Yankees, will have his number retired on May 24 at Yankee Stadium in the game against the Texas Rangers.

The former right fielder had a successful career in the major league from 1991 to 2006, helping the Yankees win four World Series titles in five seasons from 1996 to 2000. He played a total of 2,076 games for the Yankees in 16 seasons, where he averaged .297 with 287 homeruns and 1,257 RBIs. The San Juan, Puerto Rico native is also the all-time leader in postseason home runs with 22 and postseason RBIs with 80 in 121 playoff games.

On the other hand, Posada, who donned the No. 20 jersey during his 17-year career in the big league, will be honored on Aug. 22 before the match against the Cleveland Indians.

Posada, 43, spent his entire 17 seasons in the major league with the Yankees, winning five World Series titles. He played a total of 1,829 games and averaged .235 with 275 homeruns and 1,065 RBIs. The Santurce, Puerto Rico native is the second all-time leader in postseason appearances with 125 games.

After hearing the Yankees' plan to retire his number, Posada took to Twitter and expressed excitement over the upcoming ceremony, saying he cannot believe no one will wear the No. 20 Yankees jersey again.

Meanwhile, the Yankees will also retire Pettitte's No. 46 jersey on Aug. 23 in the game against Cleveland. The former Yankees pitcher went 219-127 in 15 seasons with the team and is currently the team's all-time leader in strikeouts with 2,020. He once admitted that he used HGH during his career.
