Jennifer Lopez, Ben Affleck Relationship News 2015: 'Gone Girl' Actor 'Whispered' Into 'Home' Actress' Ear During Oscars 2015 Commercial Break [Watch]
Jennifer Lopez and former fiancé Ben Affleck reconnected at the 87th Annual Academy Awards on Sunday, Feb. 22.
The Associated Press reports "Argo" star Affleck, 42, reportedly sought out "Booty" singer Lopez, 45, during one of award ceremony's commercial breaks. According to AP, Affleck "whispered something" in Lopez's ear, to which the Grammy award-winner responded by "playfully" swatting him on the arm.
Lopez and Affleck met on the "Gigli" movie set in 2003. The movie bombed at the box office but did result in their becoming one of Hollywood's power couples. Affleck proposed to Lopez in late 2002 with an enormous 6.1-carat pink diamond engagement ring. Their wedding was scheduled for September 2003, but was postponed and later cancelled when they ended their relationship in January 2004.
Although Affleck married Jennifer Garner and Lopez moved on with now-ex-husband Marc Anthony, the two have remained friends.
"We don't have the kind of relationship where she relies on me for advice, but we do have the kind of relationship where there'll be an email saying, 'Oh, your movie looks great,'" Affleck told The Hollywood Reporter in 2012. "I remember when she got 'American Idol.' I said, 'This was really smart. Good luck.' I touch base. I respect her. I like her. She's put up with some stuff that was unfair in her life, and I'm really pleased to see her successful."
Lopez has indeed been successful in both music and film. The singer has released the new single "Feel the Light" featured in the DreamWorks Pictures movie "Home," in which she also stars as the voice for one of the characters, reports MTV. The animated film is about an alien race called "the Boov" that colonizes Earth.
"Feel the light / Shining in the dark of night / Remember what we forgot / I know it's a long shot / But we're bringing it all back," Lopez croons on the heartfelt ballad.
The movie, based on the children's science fiction novel "The True Meaning of Smekday," also features the voices of Rihanna, Jim Parsons and Steve Martin.
"Home" will be released in theaters on March 27.
