Xbox One Features, Gameplay & Review: 1 Million Units Sold Out In Just One Day
Microsoft Corp made a big bang selling over 1 million units of Xbox One in just 24 hours since it hit the store shelves on Friday. This just made it even with its main competitor PlayStation 4 of Sony Corp which was launched in more countries around the globe.
According to Yahoo Finance, the Xbox One was launched in a total of 13 countries and set a new record of launching day Xbox sales as it got sold out in majority of its retailers. Sony's PS4 on the other hand sold a million of their new game console after its launch in Canada and US and expanding to other parts of the world like South America, Europe and Australia by November 29.
Xbox's corporate Vice President for their marketing and strategy department said that they are all working double time to produce more consoles so that it can be able to keep up with the console war they are to face Sony this Christmas. The Xbox One though is priced a hundred dollars more than of the PS4 since it is priced at $499 while Sony's PS4 is at $399, at least in the U.S.
In the UK region, BBC UK reports that there were about 300 game stores along with 100 Tesco branches which offered the Xbox One. Within the UK region, the Xbox One is priced at £429 or 514 euros while the PS4 is priced at £349 or 418 euros. Microsoft aims to make their game console serve as a hub for many other purposes like making it serve as cable controller and other satellite top boxes. Skype is also integrated into the gaming console.
