La Toya Jackson and fiancé Jeffre Phillips have called off their engagement.

The older sister of Michael Jackson confirmed to TMZ.com this week she and her business partner fiancé have put their wedding plans on hold, though they still appear to be close. As the two left Mastro's Steakhouse in Beverly Hills Thursday night, Jackson described Phillips as a "truth-teller."

Yet, in the same breath, Jackson said, "We're not engaged anymore," when reporters from the website quizzed Phillips, "Has Ms. Jackson given you the green light for a bachelor party?"

As Phillips coyly looked on, the 58-year-old Jackson spilled the beans, prompting him to quickly slam his car door in the faces of reporters and quickly drive off.

As far back as late 2013, rumors began to surface Jackson and Phillips were already married, but the couple quickly shot down those rumors. However, she later admitted Phillips had popped the question while they were vacationing in Hawaii and sealed the deal with a 17.5-carat diamond ring.

Shortly after on an episode of "Good Morning America," Jackson revealed she hoped to one day adopt and that she had always dreamed of being a mother. As for the proposal, which took place at the Trump Hotel, Jackson said, "[I was caught off guard so] it wasn't a fast yes. I had no clue. I couldn't understand why he was so nervous."

On Friday, Jackson took to social media to post, "You must Love & Respect yourself! Before you can Love & Respect anyone else!"

Jackson was previously married to Jack Gordon for seven years commencing in 1989. Back in 2013, Jackson stunningly claimed she and Gordon never had sex during their union and that he was often physically abusive.
