Selena Gomez's new boyfriend considers her to be his "dream girl."

According to HollywoodLife.com, DJ Zedd "has liked her forever" and is convinced the "Heart Wants What It Wants" crooner is the "perfect" person.

"Selena is so nice and so beautiful," a source told the website. "Zedd has liked her forever -- it's an achievement to be dating her because he always thought she was great from afar, and now, he knows those thoughts he had are realistic. She is exactly what he thought she was going to be."

HollywoodLife.com adds Zedd has no doubt he is better suited for Gomez than on-again, off-again ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber.

"Zedd is real, isn't a brat, doesn't have an ego that's off the charts, and he's embracing his talent and doing stuff with it," added the source. "He cherishes all that he has and enjoys his life. Justin's ego and 'me first' attitude is something that Selena doesn't like. Zedd is a real guy and down-to-Earth,"

In turn, Gomez has reportedly gone out of her way to make sure Zedd knows her true intentions and that she is open to the prospect of the two growing even closer.

"Selena is definitely open to this and loves that he's the one taking charge of the relationship," a source previously told HollywoodLife.com. "She loves that he wants to claim her as his own, something Justin was so up and down about."

Still, Bieber may not be giving up without a fight. He recently publicly vowed to win Gomez back, even if it meant him having to change his long controversial ways. Over the last several months, Bieber has had at least two run-ins with the police, including being arrested on DUI charges and being ordered to reimburse a neighbor upwards of $80,000 for damage he caused to the family's home in act of vandalism.
