Beginning May 21, episodes of "Between" starring Jennette McCurdy will begin airing on a weekly basis on Netflix, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

McCurdy will play a pregnant teen in the thriller-drama show. On the show, an entire town has been wiped out by a mysterious disease, only those 21 and under have survived.

McCurdy has starred in Nickelodeon's "iCarly" and "Sam & Cat."

Instead of releasing the entire season of the show, Netflix will release each new episode on a weekly basis after Canada's City gets the first window to screen the show to its viewers.

After City screens "Between" at 8 p.m. each week, it will appear on Netflix an hour later. This is a different approach for Netflix's other shows to be aired this summer, including "Orange is the New Black," which will be released as an entire season.

"Teaming up with Rogers on 'Between' is a tremendous opportunity to work with a creative partner in Canada to bring our global viewers top-notch content," said Erik Barmack, VP of global independent content at Netflix, according to Variety.

Netflix offered a teaser for "Between" through McCurdy's Twitter account. The first episode, "School's Out," will show the town of Pretty Lake being killed off by the mysterious disease. Only those 21 and under end up surviving.

"The death toll is rising. New #Netflix original series coming May 21st. #NetflixBetween #PrayForPrettyLake," McCurdy posted on Twitter along with the video.

The video shows young people texting and tweeting while a news anchor speaks in the background about the recent oubtreak of deaths in Pretty Lake. The anchor says it is unclear why the people are dying but they think the cause is contagious.

A total of six one-hour episodes have been ordered for the new show, which is originally from Canada.
