Nick Cannon has filed suit alleging soon-to-be-ex-wife Mariah Carey sold their Bel-Air mansion without keeping him informed about the deal, TMZ originally reported.

According to The Boston Herald, Cannon claims he only learned about the $9 million sale of the home he once shared with the "Hero" crooner and their twin children after the deal was complete. The Herald adds Cannon names business manager Michael Kane as the plaintiff in suit, alleging that he was not kept abreast of ongoing developments and that Kane only shared details with Carey.

The 34-year-old "America's Got Talent" star insists he is now concerned about how proceeds from the sale are slated to be divided and has asked authorities to freeze the $9 million "until a detailed accounting of the cash" can be given.

The newspaper adds Kane is now slamming the suit as "frivolous" and the signs of a "clearly desperate act from a sadly desperate man."

Currently, Canon, who has an estimated net worth of around $20 million, is residing in a rented home in Saddle River, New Jersey, where he reportedly pays $11,000 month for the six-bedroom, eight-bathroom secluded property in hopes of shielding his children from public attention.

The two children split time residing with their parents, and Cannon is rumored to be interested in purchasing the Jersey home if things work out with his children.

After more than six years of marriage, Cannon formally filed for divorce from his superstar wife around Christmas. Prior to that, the two had been living apart for several months.

Since then, Carey has slapped her ex with a legal tender that prohibits him from publicly speaking about their marriage or breakup or face the possibility of significant penalties being levied against him during ongoing court proceedings.

Cannon and Carey were also recently sued by a former Nanny, who claims they forced her to work as many as 120 hours a week and routinely abused her.
