Europa League 2014-15 Round of 16 Schedule, Standings & Preview: Where to Watch Everton vs. Dynamo Kiev, Villarreal vs. Sevilla & Other Games
The Europa League gets back underway on Thursday with the first leg of its round of 16 matchups.
There are a plethora of major games on display including Everton's tie with Dynamo Kiev. As England's final representative in the team, Everton is looking to be the first English side to win this trophy since Chelsea managed the feat in 2013. They are the favorites to win this match-up after trouncing Switzerland's Young Boys 7-2 in the previous round.
Spain has two representatives left in this tie and they will be facing off against one another. Villarreal will look to continue a solid season by eliminating the defending Europa League champions Sevilla, who won the only match-up between these two sides this season and has not lost against Villarreal since Feb. 5, 2012.
The league with the greatest chance at winning this trophy is Italy's first division which has five sides in contention.
Fiorentina and Roma provide the most interesting of matchups. Roma was in the Champions League this season and has been the better side all year. Expect Francesco Totti and company to come away with the win overall, but they will have a big task at hand in the away leg on Thursday.
Napoli gets Dynamo Moscow, which should also provide for some interesting competition. Napoli destroyed Turkish side Trabzonspor in the previous round and should be the favorite to take this game.
Inter Milan continues its renaissance with a tie against Wolfsburg, which took down Sporting CP in the previous match. One would have to favor the German side in this tie over the Italian team.
Finally, Torino gets to take on a Zenit St. Petersburg side that is among the favorites remaining to take the title. Expect a big win here for the Russian side which destroyed a promising PSV Eindhoven team in the previous round.
Rounding out the matches are games between Club Brugge and Besiktas, as well as a Round of 16 tilt between Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk and Ajax Amsterdam.
