In "Run All Night," treasured actors Liam Neeson and Ed Harris bring the action, the wit and the intensity, so much so that you could cut it with a knife.

And while they deliver stellar performances, Neeson may not be starring in action roles much longer.

Latin Post.com had a chance to talk with both superstar actors as their latest blockbuster movie prepares to open in theaters nationwide this weekend.

Both having impressive careers and experience under their belts, the two, while humble and humorous about aging in their 60's, still undoubtedly have the confidence to command the big screen and capture Hollywood.

"I am in a very ... career-wise, great place. ... Hollywood sees me in a different light. I have done quite a few action-oriented scripts, which is great, I'm not knocking it. It's terrific. I am very flattered. My knees are still holding out," Neeson told Latin Post.

Neeson, 62, who's known for his action films, "Taken" (2008), "They Grey" (2011) and his Oscar-winning role in Steven Spielberg's compelling "Schindler's List," as well as "Love Actually," will also star in this summer's comedy sequel "Ted 2," director J.A. Bayona's drama "A Monster Calls" and the Martin Scorsese-helmed "Silence."

So how much longer will Neeson star in action films?

"There's a limit of course. It's the movies, ya know? For myself, I'd probably ... maybe two years, if God spares me and I'm healthy and stuff, but after that I'd have to stop I think," Neeson said.

"Really?" Harris asked.

"The action-oriented scripts, sure yeah." Neeson added.

"We'll see," added Harris.

And for Oscar nominee Harris, who's also known for "Pollock" and "A Beautiful Mind?" It looks like he's up for anything.

"I feel fine about getting older because I am in shape. ... I feel good. I feel pretty comfortable with who I am. ... I try to stay in shape, I have been married for 32 years and Amy and I get along great," Harris said. "My daughter is healthy and is studying hard. I am very blessed and thankful."

"In terms of the work, I still really enjoy doing what I do. I do feel as the years go by, you just accumulate more and more knowledge about what you do and you feel more and more confident in it. You're always growing within in it and that's what I love about it, there's always something to learn," he added.

There's no denying the chemistry between Neeson and Harris, and while they both have fantastic careers and mutual friends, they have never met before.

"It's like, there is either chemistry between people, or there isn't. I was just riding his coattails man, ya know? He's been in very successful films and I was real happy to just be asked to join along," Harris told Latin Post. "But I think we have mutual respect for each other's work and were looking forward to working together. We're both professionals and we love what we do. There's no ego or anything, or bullshit involved. We were just there working with each other and it just worked out."

For Neeson, "Run All Night" is an ode to American films from the past to the present and his tribute to them as an Irishman who has fallen in love with American cinema.

"I think there is a lot that resonates from great American movies that I was brought up in. You know?" Neeson said. "You start to think a little bit of 'The Godfather,' a little bit of 'Heat,' 'State of Grace.' These little snippets come back. You kind of celebrate that genre. I was just aware they were there and they touched me in some way as an actor and I might be able to emulate some of that."

In "Run All Night," Brooklyn mobster and prolific hit man Jimmy Conlon (Neeson), once known as The Gravedigger, has seen better days. Longtime best friend of mob boss Shawn Maguire (Harris), Jimmy, now 55, is haunted by the sins of his past -- as well as a dogged police detective (Vincent D'Onofrio) who's been one step behind Jimmy for 30 years. Lately, it seems Jimmy's only solace can be found at the bottom of a whiskey glass.

"But when Jimmy's estranged son, Mike (Kinnaman), becomes a target, Jimmy must make a choice between the crime family he chose and the real family he abandoned long ago. With Mike on the run, Jimmy's only penance for his past mistakes may be to keep his son from the same fate Jimmy is certain he'll face himself...at the wrong end of a gun. Now, with nowhere safe to turn, Jimmy just has one night to figure out exactly where his loyalties lie and to see if he can finally make things right."

"Run All Night," also stars Joel Kinnaman ("The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo"), D'Onofrio ("The Judge"), Genesis Rodriguez ("Identity Thief"), Boyd Holbrook (HBO's "Behind the Candelabra"), Holt McCallany ("Gangster Squad") and Common ("Now You See Me"). The film is directed by Jaume Collet-Serra ("Non-Stop").
