Police say a 52-year-old man was violently stabbed to death after he accidentally spilled coffee on a 15-year-old boy outside of a McDonald's in Connecticut last week.

Officials say that Antonio Muralles was brutally attacked on the evening of March 11 after he left a Stamford McDonald's with a cup of coffee and bumped into the teen, spilling coffee on him. As a result, an altercation ensued between Muralles and the teen, who pulled out a knife and stabbed him in and around his heart multiple times, said Police Captain Richard Conklin, according to CBS New York.

"Words were exchanged and then without warning, he was viciously attacked and stabbed through the heart -- a very heinous, tragic incident," Capt. Conklin told the Stamford Advocate.

The teen's accomplice, 22-year-old James McLamb of New Haven, also stomped on the man's chest after he was already laying on the ground. The suspects then fled the scene.

Officials combed through hundreds of hours of video surveillance tape from multiple camera systems around downtown and Veterans Park before a witness came forward, offering tips that helped crack the case.

"That blew the case wide open," Lt. Diedrich Hohn said.

Following his arrest on an unrelated weapons charge Saturday, McLamb was arraigned on Monday and order to be held in jail on a $2 million bond.

The teen is being held at the Bridgeport Juvenile Detention Center and set to be arraigned Tuesday. Both suspects are being charged with murder, while a third suspect is being sought.

The victim's family members described Muralles, from Guatamala, as a quiet migrant man who worked at a coffee factory in Norwalk. Relatives added that he was a good person, who dreamed of returning to his homeland to care for his elderly father.
