Powerball Numbers & Results March 25, 2015: Watch Live Stream Of Drawing For $40 Million Jackpot
Wednesday’s Powerball is here, and the jackpot is currently estimated at $40 million or a cash value of $26.8 million.
Last Sunday’s winning numbers were: 11, 16, 30, 38 and 42, and the Powerball was 7.
There are nine ways to win at Powerball. Interested players have a 1 in 175,223,510.00 chance in getting the grand prize.
There is a 1 in a more than 5 million chance of winning $1 million, and a 1 in 648,975.96 chance in claiming $10,000. A lottery player's odds obviously get way better the lower the prize, as there is a 1 in 55.41 chance of doubling your money on a $2 ticket.
There were 481,663 actual winners last Sunday, and $7,161,511 in non-jackpot prizes awarded.
Two of the big winning tickets were purchased in Tennessee.
As reported WSMV News in Nashville, State Lottery officials stated that, of the two winning Powerball tickets that had been sold in Tennessee, one of the winning tickets actually won Saturday night's $50 million jackpot.
The lottery officials said that the ticket that hit the jackpot was sold at a store called Rocky Top Market in Harriman.
A Powerball ticket worth $2 million was sold at a place called Nick & Bubba's Beer & Bait in Hohenwald.
The lottery officials said that the winners remain unknown.
Sunday’s jackpot was the third largest prize awarded in the southern state's history.
A fellow from Knoxville named Roy Cockrum won a $259.8 million jackpot back in June, but, as he had previously taken a vow of poverty, the man decided to give most of the money to theater-based charities.
As reported by ABC News, Cockrum said of his new fortune: “It's going to be my job to work very hard to make sure that every single penny of this prize is a blessing to whoever it touches."
