'New Girl' Season 4 Episode 19 Spoilers: Coach Deals With the Death of a Friend, Jess Accidentally Sexts
Amid rumors the show has already been approved for a fifth season, the March 31 episode of "New Girl," billed as "The Right Thing," is seemingly shaping up as one to remember.
According to TVLine via Spoilers Guide, the episode focusses on the funeral of one of Ernie "Coach" Tagliaboo's friends. Daman Wayans Jr. stars as Coach. The episode also features Jess, who is played by Zooey Deschanel, accidentally sending a "sext" to the man in question, later leading her on a desperate hunt to find the phone before his deceased girlfriend has a chance to view the message.
Produced in Los Angeles and airing since September 2011, "New Girl" is an ensemble show primarily centering around Jess. In 2011, the show was named one of the best comedies one of the fall season, with the pilot episode drawing an audience of more than 10 million viewers, including some 4.8 million of them being from the every influential 18-49-year-old demographic.
Those numbers resulted in the show being the highest-rated fall debut for a Fox scripted show since 2001. The show has been nominated for several awards, including five Golden Globe Awards and five Primetime Emmy Awards.
The show also stars Jake Johnson as "Nicholas "Nick" Miller, Max Greenfield as Schmidt, Lamorne Morris as Winston Bishop and Hannah Simone as Cecilia "CeCe" Parekh.
Meanwhile, SpoilersGuide recently said that, according to Greenfield, "filming is finished for season 4, so a season 5 renewal definitely seems the case!"
The "New Girl" pilot was released via demand on iTunes and TiVo four years ago, with the pilot episode attracting an audience of more than 10 million. The second episode bolstered the show to the status of top-rated show on TV among the much sought-after 18-49-year-old demographic.
