Mexican actor David Zepeda does not plan to take any legal action after a video showing him masturbating surfaced on the Internet, El Universal noted, even though the "Hasta el Fin del Mundo" star had told Televisa that he had been extorted over its content "for years."

"The damage is already done, and I have to live with it," Zepeda told the Mexican newspaper. "I apologize to the public (and) to my partner; it was a video from years ago," the 41-year-old added.

The recording, which shows a naked man masturbating, was the result of a past long-distance relationship, Zepeda explained. He insisted that he had not contacted the "ex-girlfriend who lived far away," who allegedly produced it.

"It's a chapter that I already closed years ago, and which I will not pursue legally," he said.

After facing a media storm outside a Mexico City gym, meanwhile, Zepeda will apparently no longer talk about the topic; Televisa, which produces the "Hasta el fin del mundo" telenovela, has put a gag order on its protagonist, La Opinión revealed.

"The actor has been strictly prohibited not just from granting interviews to any news outlet, but also from commenting on social networks or friendly media," the Los Angeles-based newspaper detailed.

On Monday, Zepeda had told Televisa's news division that there had been a long-time extortion attempt over the recording.

"For several years, they threatened to release it; it is an old video," he admitted. "I did not give in to the extortion. It was (a video) with a girl with whom I had a relationship; she lived in a different city, and we ended up having a personal chat," the actor added.

The situation had been painful for him and his family, the Nogales, Sonora, native revealed.

"I feel betrayed, and I do not know what to do (except) own up to it," Zepeda noted. "I feel very bad about all this; it is a very difficult situation for me, for my family, for my girlfriend, for my friends," he added.
