The basketball star was recently sentenced to three years probation, alcohol counseling and some fees, reports say.

Odom previously pleaded not guilty to a drunken driving charge October. He was caught driving his wife's white Mercedes SUV in a "serpentine manner" at 50 miles per hour.

The basketball superstar reportedly "showed objective signs of intoxication and he was unable to perform his field sobriety tests," says a report.

According to Radar Online, Odom is changing his plea from "not guilty" to "no contest." The plea was made on his behalf thru his lawyer Monday. The athlete pleaded "no contest" to first offense DUI and "the refusal to take further testing after he was arrested was dismissed."

Odom's refusal to take further tests led to the suspension of his driver's license for a year.

"He did what no one should ever do, he refused the chemical tests. That means that his license is revoked and Lamar could get the most powerful attorney in the world and he is still not going to have a license for a year," a California Highway Patrol public information officer told Radar Online.

Odom is now mandated to serve 3 years on probation. He is also required to attend 3 months worth of alcohol counseling. A fine amounting to $1,814 has also been charged.

The basketball superstar's career has recently been put to the side with him struggling out of a reported cocaine addiction. The supposed drug abuse has reportedly caused problems not only in his career but with his married life as well.

The Clippers player is dead on returning to his team. Report says that Odom has been working out, getting back into shape and is even willing to take random drug tests to get his career back up.

He is "very close to signing a one year contract with the Los Angeles Clippers. He has been working out, and getting ready to re-join his team. Lamar agreed to undergo random drug testing administered by the team, and if he returns one dirty test, he will be suspended from the team immediately," Radar Online quotes an unnamed source.
