J.J. Watt, Caroline Wozniacki Spark Dating Rumors After Watching Duke vs. Wisconsin Game Together
NFL star J.J. Watt and tennis pro Caroline Wozniacki were seen hanging out together at Monday night's Duke vs. Wisconsin national championship game in Indianapolis, fueling speculation that the two may now be dating.
According to TheBigLead, the Houston Texans defensive end and Wozniacki sat side by side as the former Badgers' star feverishly cheered on his alma mater.
Earlier in the day, Wozniacki attended the White House Easter Egg Hunt, where she posed for photos with President Obama and other dignitaries. The 24-year-old former top-ranked tennis player was previously linked to star golfer Rory McIlroy, but the two called it quits in early 2014.
At the time, USA Today Sports reported McIlroy ended the couple's relationship and engagement in a "surprise, three-minute phone call" during which Wozniacki thought he was kidding.
McIlroy later claimed their split was "mutual," but that didn't prevent a flood of online criticism from being heaped in his direction over the way he handled the breakup. Ultimately, he admitted he got "cold feet" after the then couple sent out their wedding invitations to around 300 guests.
In May 2014, the Belfast Telegraph reported McIlroy broke up with Wozniacki because "she freaked him out" after becoming a "bridezilla."
"Things haven't been right between Rory and Caroline for about a year now, he's made that very clear," a source described as close to McIlroy said. "Everyone was completely shocked when he proposed, but he thought that would buy him more time because Caroline had made it clear she expected him to pop the question."
The 26-year-old Watt is a two-time AP Defensive Player of the Year (2012 and 2014). In each of those seasons, he recorded a team-leading 20.5 sacks. According to ESPN, he recently inked a $100 million, six-year extension with the Texans.
