Chris Brown Back in Court, Probation Under Review
And the Chris Brown - Rihanna saga continues.
According to TMZ, R&B singer Chris Brown has tested positive for marijuana.
Brown was in court yesterday for probation progress report hearing from his 2009 assault on ex-girlfriend Rihanna.
According to Brown's probation report, he tested positive for marijuana in June in Virginia. Brown reportedly produced a medical marijuana card after the positive test.
Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Patricia Schnegg has set a Nov. 1 hearing to decide whether he violated his five-year probation which ends in 2014.
According to Schnegg, mandatory drug testing was not a condition of Brown's probation, giving him a warning reminding him that he was a role model.
"You are not an ordinary person who can sit in your living room and do whatever you want to do," Schnegg said. "More importantly, a lot of people look up to you, a lot of kids. What you do and what you say impacts a lot of people."
Schnegg also ordered Brown's entire case moved back to California because that's where he lives now.
Judge Schnegg also ordered Brown to meet with his probation officer within 72 hours to sort out a discrepancy in community service hours -- prosecutors say he had 121 hours left to complete as of Aug. 15, but Brown's attorney, Mark Geragos, insists he has less than that left. Brown was sentenced to six months of probation when he battered Rihanna on eve of the 200 Grammys.
Brown has been dealing with a $16 million lawsuit following a June brawl with Drake at NYC nightclubs Greenhouse and WiP.
Brown debuted with the Scott Storch-produced "Run It!" and became the first male solo artist to release a single that went straight to the top of the Billboard singles chart. Only 16 at the time, Brown came from a small town in Virginia called Tappahannock.
