'Yandel: Camino al Concierto' Date, Air Time & Update: Documentary & Concert Show Yandel's Rise as a Solo Artist [Watch]
Yandel is offering a unique peak into his daily life and career on HBO Latino's new documentary "Yandel: Camino al Concierto," New York Daily News reports.
Tuesday, HBO Latino offered a special screening in New York that featured appearances by rapper 50 Cent, "Gotham" star J.W. Cortes and tropical music sensation Bachata Heightz.
In the documentary, Yandel hopes to tell the story about his experience preparing for a big-time concert. HBO Latino, HBO's Spanish-language premium channel, announced the concert "Yandel: Legacy-De Lider a Leyenda Tour." The concert will premiere Friday at 8 p.m. ET. Airing right before the concert will be the documentary at 7:30 p.m. ET.
The documentary was filmed in Puerto Rico last fall. The show aims to tell the story of Yandel's new solo act. He was previously part of Wisin & Yandel.
Yandel shows off his enthusiasm and energy while performing reggaeton songs from his multiplatinum albums. The behind-the-scenes look at Yandel's preparation leadup to his big performance a sell-out show at the Jose Miguel Agrelot Coliseum.
Making cameos to support Yandel's concert preparation are Wisin, Tego Calderon, Farruko and tropical music icon Gilberto Santa Rosa.
Yandel has spent the last two decades succeeding in Latin music. Now, he will join other HBO Latino Concerts performers Carlos Santana's "Live it to Believe it, Live From Mexico", Thalia's "Viva Tour En Vivo", Romeo Santos' "The King Stays King" and Reik's "En Vivo Desde El Auditorio Nacional."
The documentary follows Yandel's journey to pull off a "clean," "elegant," and "sophisticated" concert for his fans. Yandel admits to being a perfectionist. This is his chance to show how far he has come, Huffington Post reports.
