“The Fosters,” the Jennifer Lopez-produced ABC Family series about an interracial lesbian couple raising a blended family of biological as well as adopted and foster children, is gearing up for it third season.

The Sherri M. Saum and Terri Polo-starring show is set to premiere on June 8, and will feature an eclectic group of guest stars including Katherine McNamara, Keean Johnson and Tom Williamson.

According to Spoilers Guide, the 19-year old McNamara will join the regular cast playing a girl named “Kat,” who is described as an attractive and ruthlessly ambitious piano prodigy.

Johnson, who is perhaps best known for his role on “Spooksville,” has been cast as an overzealous but obviously talented musical composer named Tom.

And Williamson, of “The Goldbergs” and “Switched at Birth” fame, will reprise his role as AJ, a runaway who Callie (Maia Mitchell) forms a connection with at the drop-in center.

Terri Polo, who plays a cop and foster mom on series, was asked by SheKnows about how portraying her character has affected her on a personal level.

"It has changed my life. It really, honestly has. I was clueless," said the “Meet the Fockers” actress.

"I lived my own little narrow life and my own little simple life with my own little trials and tribulations, then when we started going to the HRC dinners, when we started going to the GLAAD dinners, when we started going to D.C. and when we started going to the L.A. Gay and Lesbian Center,” Polo said about the organization that Peter Page, the creator and executive producer of "The Fosters," is a board member of.

Polo said “it was life-changing to see a community come together and support and love and be strong and sharing and giving. I'd never seen anybody come together like that.”
