Anne Hathaway and husband Adam Shulman are rumored to be in the "last stage" of adopting their first child together.

According to Yahoo, the 32-year-old "The Devil Wears Prada" star is said to be "nervous, but happy" about the prospect of becoming a mother. So much so, it seems to matter little to her if the child is a boy or girl.

"Anne is so happy and nervous," a source told the website. "She can't quite believe it's so close to becoming reality. It's truly a blessing, and she and Adam can't stop talking about it."

The couple, who got married in 2012, are now rumored to be "bragging" to friends about their pending status as parents. Unlike the growing trend involving many other celebrities, Hathaway reportedly has consciously decided to adopt an American child as opposed to one from abroad.

Hathaway and the 34-year-old Shulman are also reported to have decided to someday have their own biological children. As part of their long term plan, Yahoo adds the pair is looking into the prospect of relocating from New York City to the West Coast to be closer to where Hathaway's mom resides and to be able to "enjoy the culture of the city".

About a year ago, Hathaway and Shulman moved to adopt a dog together, a mixed breed rescue puppy they renamed Kenobi.

"Their new dog is named Kenobi, as in Obi Wan-Kenobi from Star Wars," a source close to Hathaway told Us Weekly. The couple already owned a chocolate Labrador Retriever Esmeralda.

An Academy Award winner for her role as Fantine in "Les Miserables," Hathaway has also starred in such flicks as "Rachel Getting Married," "The Dark Knight Rises," "Valentine's Day," "Alice in Wonderland," and "Love and Other Drugs."
