Selena Gomez and Zedd reportedly split for good after briefly dating, which has led many to wonder if the breakup was caused by Justin Bieber. 

The "I Wanted You to Know" duo has decided that they are better off being "just friends," reports HollywoodLife.com.

A source claimed things between the two were great while they were promoting their single together. However, when they finally returned to their normal lives, they realized "they weren't missing each other."

The source added that "The Heart Wants What It Wants" crooner and the EDM artist "have just drifted apart romantically," especially because they have different interests.

Another source explained that the pair's romance could not last, because Gomez still has not moved on from her on-again, off-again boyfriend, Bieber. 

The "Come & Get It" singer supposedly could not stop talking about the Canadian pop star, after watching his Comedy Central roast. This reportedly led to issues between the couple because Zedd allegedly felt as though he was second best to Bieber. According to sources, Zedd also felt this would not change. 

"Zedd could sense that she was still carrying a torch for him," the source added. "She kept asking him if he thought Justin had really changed? If it was an act? Just on and on."

Though there has not been any proof that Bieber and Gomez are once again an item, that is where sources say they could be heading. 

An insider recently revealed to HollywoodLife.com that the former couple is currently on speaking terms, with Bieber reportedly contacting Gomez after the end of she and Zedd's relationship. 

These days Gomez's love life is complicated, if reports are true. One source has alleged that Gomez had a one-night stand with Miley Cyrus' ex-fiancé, Liam Hemsworth, last year. 

According to Life & Style, via HollywoodLife.com, Gomez was "absolutely furious" to find out that Bieber and Cyrus had a brief fling back in 2012 when they were on a break. Seeking revenge, she allegedly hooked up with "The Hunger Games" actor in the summer of 2014.

"[Hemsworth] bragged about it to his friends," the source alleged. "It was just a one-night stand, but Miley had no idea!"
