Can Jack Selby, PayPal's Vice-President, be the mystery tipper behind "Tips for Jesus"? An NYC waiter who works at Bo's Kitchen in the upscale neighborhood of Chelsea seems to think so.

Waiter Aruj Dhawan of Bo's Kitchen told The New York Post that the man who left him $1,000 tip was former PayPal Vice President Jack Selby. Selby became "extremely rich" after the sale of PayPal to Ebay and it seems like he might enjoy spreading the wealth. Aruj, the waiter, told The Post that Selby was one out of three "very well-dressed" men who spend $111.05-worth of beers, bourbon, pasta, shrimp, and pork chops.

As he went to drop off the check one of the men told Dhawan that he was about to "make [his] night". Once Dhawan looked at his tip he immediately understood what that meant, $1,000 was his tip. Benjamin Cramer, the restaurant's manager asked the group "Why tip so much?" The man responded, "Just because ... we tip a hundred times the bill." The manager was just curious as to why a person would be so generous, since people don't usually like to give their money away.

Valley Wag, who originally unmasked the mystery tipper, says, "all the Jesus talk is a joke ... Even if it is Selby, he probably isn't the only one behind 'Tips for Jesus' as last week, tips were left in NYC and Mexico on the same night." Lucky for Dhawan -- he'll be able to pay his half of the rent with the $1,000 he was given (NYC rents are outrageous).

Other waiters can just hope to be next, as Valley Wag can be right and the generosity can be spreading from one rich person to another. This is a fantastic way to share what you have; there is no urgency to find out who are the mystery tippers. So, waiters, go to work with a bright smile and treat everyone (especially men in suits) very nicely.
