Kylie Jenner recently posted an Instagram message encouraging her fans to be themselves and stop participating in the #KylieJennerChallenge that is trending on Twitter and Instagram, Entertainment Tonight reports.

Jenner explained that she is not trying to encourage young girls to look like her. Instead, she wants girls to experiment with their looks while remembering to be themselves.

The #KylieJennerChallenge first garnered traction on Twitter this past weekend with Jenner fans posting photos of themselves attempting to get fuller lips like the "Keeping up With the Kardashians" star.

Although Kylie has openly said she uses makeup and lip liner to achieve a plump pout, her fans are trying a more drastic method that can potentially cause some serious side effects.

According to HollywoodLife, social media users are suctioning a glass bottle over their lips which causes them to inflate. But a lot of social media users that have posted their #KylieJennerChallenge experience online also claim that suctioning lips cause bruising, redness and prolonged swelling.

Some social media users are also claiming that while doing the challenge, the glass cup exploded in their mouths, causing severe cuts and bruises.

In a recent interview with Grazia, Jenner insisted that she did not undergo plastic surgery for her full lips. Instead, she spent a lot of time perfecting her makeup.

"I haven't had plastic surgery. I've never been under the knife. People flashback to pictures of me when I was 12 and say 'Kylie's so different' but how can I look the same from 12-18?" she said.

In a past interview with E! News, she elaborated on her overuse of lip liner.

"I love lip liner and over lining my lips. But I don't even care anymore. I'm like whatever, just say whatever you want," she said.
