"Entertainment Tonight" Correspondent Rocsi Diaz Talks "The Hunger Games"
Previous BET "106 & Park" host Raquel Roxanne Diaz, professionally known as Rocsi Diaz, who now acts as "Entertainment Tonight" correspondent, recently spoke about hosting "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" movie premiere in Washington, D.C and a recent interview she had with the cast.
The D.C. showing, which Diaz hosted, was one of 26 cities to offer early viewings of the film, made available to fans who took part of a national contest. Subway, which sponsored the screenings, also supports Feeding America and its 200 worldwide food banks. The Honduran television personality gained an opportunity to interview the cast of "Catching Fire" while covering the film, and was one of the first to get a close look at Jennifer Lawrence's latest haircut, and interacted with the cast on different levels.
"I actually like that I was able to see Jennifer Lawrence's haircut in person. I was the first one to talk to her about her haircut and why she did it. It was cool. And I got to see the love of my life, Lenny Kravitz, and I was goo-goo gaga over him," Diaz said to Latina Magazine. "It was really great, the whole cast is great! Liam [Hemsworth] and Woody Harrelson, and of course my honey, Josh Hutcherson. It was so funny, so cute to see Jennifer and Josh interact with each other; they're really cute with each other. It's so funny!"
Diaz sat down to speak with the cast. Hemsworth, Harelson and Hutcherson joked about Lawrence's "diva" antics after her Oscar win in February, which coincided with filming for "Catching Fire." They all indicated with humor that Lawrence often appeared on set speaking only to her Oscar and no one else, and then referred to the Oscar as Satan. After rattling on with dry humor and quipping sarcasm, Hemworth was the one who switched to a serious note.
"I'm so lucky to be on a project like this, with an amazing director, and you know, I couldn't ask for a better group of people to be working with," Hemsworth said. "From Jen, to Woody, to Josh, to everyone on set that I worked with in this film, is such great people and amazing actors and they really enjoy being here on set. ... You're not really feeling any pressure -- you're enjoying the moment. I think that's why our work then works, looks good, you know? Because we're all there together and feeding of each other."
Diaz happily approves of the cast and director, and furthermore, she approves of the film, and thinks that it was a successful adaption of the book.
"It's totally based off the book, but when you see the effects of the things come to life, when you see the fog, the rain and all these things that happened in the arena, when you see it come to life that's what makes you totally amazed," Diaz said to Latina Magazine.
