It's been quite a week for ABC's Modern Family.  Just three days after the comedy took home the Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series for the third consecutive year, Modern Family's season four premiered big on Wednesday night.

Over 14 million viewers tuned in to the Emmy-winning sitcom, posting TV's highest-rated comedy telecast in more than 7 months.

Up 41 percent from its season closer with viewers and 34 percent with young adults, Modern Family marked the series' 2nd-biggest audience ever for a regular telecast.  In addition, the show marked its highest young adult rating since the beginning of the year.

The family comedy also equaled its best-ever number with Kids 2-11.

The comedy features Columbian Sophia Vergara, the highest paid TV actress. She was nominated for the third consecutive year, for Best Supporting Actress in a comedy, for her role as Gloria Delgado-Pritchett. In the end, Vergara did not win the individual award - it went to co-star Julie Bowen. The Columbian actress did have much to celebrate as "Modern Family" the Emmy won for supporting actor and director.

In season four, Gloria is pregnant, and Jay will be a father once again. Haley is sent off for college.

But, Vergara is although is not pregnant in real life, she would consider doing it again. She has a 21 year old son.

"It's something that maybe ... one day I'll do again. I wouldn't mind . . .I mean, I think I can still do it. But you know, when you want to do something like that, you want to do it right, at the right moment, so I am taking it easy, so maybe when I have a little less work."

With season openers of The Middle, Modern Family and debut of The Neighbors, ABC ranked #1 from 8-10pm in Adults 18-49, beating out runner-up Fox's primetime line-up (2-hour The X Factor) by 9 percent.
