Hollywood vampires unite! At least their skilled portrayals did in real life. "Vampire Diaries" actor Ian Somerhalder has married "Twilight" beauty Nikki Reed Sunday in Santa Monica, California.

According to E! News, Somerhalder sent out a tweet just hours before getting married that simply said "most beautiful morning ever..."

E! also confirmed the couple, who have a mutual love for animals, had asked that their guests not to bring them gifts but instead were asked to donate to their animal rescue charity. Before they were even together, the couple had already adopted a horse and a kitten together.

Photos from paparazzi were circulating as early as Monday morning on social media with news of the young Hollywood couple's marriage. Their engagement only lasted four months and their relationship had a total of nine months before their nuptials were sealed.

Shortly after they were engaged, Reed told E! News, "He's the best. He's the most thoughtful human being on the planet."

People reports Reed told reporters in February, "What's actually I think nurtured this long friendship that we've had is that we are passionate about similar things."

She went on to say that they never fight and each morning when they wake, they talk about how to make the world a better place.

Somerhalder's co-star on "Vampire Diaries," Kat Graham, also told People the couple is perfect for each other.

"I haven't met two people that were more of soul mates than those guys," Graham told People.

The couple has also started their own production company together.

"Nikki and I are starting a production company and we're going to be able to tell even more stories that we really want to tell, everything from documentaries to TV shows to movies ... all kinds of stuff," Somerhalder told E! News. "It's going to be awesome," he added. "Listen, it's about telling stories and it's about creating the content to tell those stories and who's going to distribute that content."
