HTC One M8 vs. Sony Xperia Z3: Price, Specs, Pros and Cons Comparison; Which Is the Better Buy?
If price is what you're looking for as a determining factor, you may want to look up used ones and find the cheapest, because on the new market, they are pretty much the same. But now that you have gotten that out of the way, take a look at these feature comparisons to help you cultivate a decision.
According to PC Advisor, the Sony Xperia Z3 is a fairly standard, square-shaped phone in classic style. The buttons are side-mounted and the edges are rounded with an aluminum and glass basic structure. Nothing really to see here other than what you may have already been accustomed to.
But what has always been unique about Sony is the dust and waterproof design, which gives it a distinct advantage to users.
As for the HTC One M8, it has a uni-body aluminum design that weighs in at 160g. It is obviously bigger than the Sony Xperia Z3. But even with its size, it still gives you an ergonomic feel accompanied by the larger screen. It also boasts color options with Metal Grey, Artic Silver and Amber Gold.
The lighter and thinner Sony Xperia Z3 may just give it the edge though, coupled with the dust and waterproof feature.
What's in the box?
Well, speaking what's inside the phones that is, the 5.2-inch Sony Xperia Z3 boasts a pixel density of 424ppi on a 1080x1920 resolution. Although that can still be beat by other QuadHD displays, it's still impressive.
The HTC One M8, however, has a 5-inch display with Full HD 1920x1080, boosting the pixel density up to 441ppi, which is quite noticeably sharper than the Sony Xperia Z3.
The Sony Xperia Z3 features a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor and 3GB of RAM. It was clocked at 2.5GHz. The HTC One M8 features the same processor, but the chip only clocks in at 2.3GHz and it only has 2GB of RAM.
The Android KitKat software is on both devices. Both are well-built and very similar, so it would be hard to choose which would be the better buy. Take a look at the features and see what suits you best for a more informed decision.
