Selena Gomez Zone 2013: Singer Cancels Australia, Asia Concerts; Were Ticket Sales a Flop?
The 21-year old former Disney star has cancelled the remaining leg of her 'Star Dance Tour' - disappointing fans awaiting her in Australia and Asia.
According to Billboard, the pop star has cancelled her 'Star Dance Tour' concert in the following Asian countries: Japan, China, Malaysia, Singapore and Philippines.
She has also nixed her appearance for the 'Star Dance Tour' concert in five cities in Australia supposedly scheduled as follows:
February 1 - Perth Arena
February 4 - Adelaide Entertainment Centre
February 6 - Brisbane Entertainment Centre
February 7 - Sydney Entertainment Centre
February 8 - Rod Laver Arena, Melbourne
The Huffington Post reported the pop star's cursing tendencies earlier this month. According to the report, Gomez stormed off stage after cursing a technical malfunction.
Quoting a concert go-er for the Jingle Ball 2013, the songstress reportedly muttered "what the f***' after her audio and mic malfunctioned. She then apologized, saying that "the sound is not working." She promised the crowd two more songs but ended up walking out.
Photos of the singer seemingly appearing tired have also spread like wildfire.
Despite all these, a source told off People Magazine - saying that the young star is not having a breakdown.
"Selena is fine; she's in a great space. She's looking forward to spending the holidays with her family," the source said.
"She's been on the road for six months and she's just ready to be normal and at home with her family. She's been working nonstop since she was 15 and wants to take a minute to herself," the source continued.
"She is not having a breakdown. She wants to be the healthiest that she can be and this means taking a little break. But she is fine. She is OK," another source told E!
Selena Gomez has released an official statement herself regarding the last-minute concert cancellations.
"My fans are so important to me and I would never want to disappoint them.
But it has become clear to me and those close to me that after many years of putting my work first, I need to spend some time on myself in order to be the best person I can be.
To my fans, I sincerely apologize and I hope you guys know how much each and every one of you means to me."
According to CNN, those who purchased tickets to the concert will be refunded at their point of purchase.
