The Netflix streaming series “House of Cards” has been stacked up in some dangerous ways.

Season 3 of the American version of the BBC original ended with Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey) in a lonely place, as his wife Claire (Robin Wright) took off just as the scheming politician struggled to secure the Democratic nomination.

Beau Willimon, the series showrunner who wrote and produced the George Clooney-directed 2011 political drama “The Ides of March,” caught up with Hollywood Reporter at an LA screening for Emmy voters and talked about what would be happening in season four.

Remaining tight lipped about major details, Willimon admitted that he and the team were "scared" once they understood that Claire was going to leave Frank.

As Williams put it: "A lot of the strength of the show is based on the strength of that marriage. But as soon as we began to explore that, we realized there was no turning back."

As detailed in the Hollywood Reporter, Kevin Spacey, during a panel following the screening, received major applause when he asked a group of security personnel guarding the stage to step to the left after audience members voiced complaints that they could not see.

The always quick, if not always candid Spacey addressed the reality of playing a sometimes despicable character, saying: "The only way I've been able to go about the work that I do is, I don't judge the characters that I play. I try to serve the writing the best as I can."

"I don't want to ever make a moral judgment about a character, because I'm afraid if I do that I'll wear that on my sleeve," added the 55-year-old actor.

The fourth season of “House of Cards” will stream on Netflix in 2016.
