Lincoln Diaz-Balart, a former U.S. Rep. of Miami, has joined Univision News as a Republican political analyst, according to Univision.

In joining the Doral-based network, the 60-year-old former public servant follows in the footsteps of his younger brother, José Díaz-Balart, who is currently a top anchor for Telemundo as well as a host on MSNBC.

The Diaz-Balart boys seems to be all about either making the news or broadcasting it, as a third brother, Mario Diaz-Balart, currently holds a seat in Congress.

Daniel Coronell, the Univsion news division's executive vice president and executive director, said via statement: "Lincoln's extensive experience as a legislator and his profound knowledge of the issues and challenges facing our country make him an asset to Univision News."

"His valuable contributions to the political discussion will strengthen our news and electoral coverage throughout the 2016 election cycle, bringing our audience expert commentary and analysis from the Republican perspective," Coronell added.

Since leaving Congress in 2011, Diaz-Balart has been working as an attorney and a lobbyist.

Diaz-Balart brings to his new position a bevy of personal political connections, as he has been a longtime friend and adviser to former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, who will more than likely run for president in 2016.

The fact that Diaz-Balart will now be presenting the news means that he might no longer be willing to comment on Bush or any other political figures for that matter with any news service other than Univision.

Recently Diaz-Balart opened up about the personal tragedy of his son’s suicide at a congressional hearing on suicide prevention inspired by the death of comedian Robin Williams.

As reported in Fox News Latino, Diaz-Balart said: “the hearing looked at policy changes to combat mental illness, as well as how to develop a dialogue about how the media covers the issue.”
