Homeland just finished off its rollercoaster third season, but it's never too soon to start speculating about what will happen next.

Is Homeland's Brody, played by Damian Lewis, really dead?

"All [the] evidence points to his death, undoubtedly," exec producer Alex Gansa tells TVLine, dismissing speculation that Brody's public hanging was somehow staged. "I encourage [doubters] to watch the episode again. The issue has been settled. He is not unkillable."

Is this Homeland's final season? After all Brody was an integral part of the show.

Homeland just made a major U-turn in killing off its main character. Could the writers possibly be gearing up for the end of the show? It seems to early to tell, but ending a hit show and leaving lots of money on the table doesn't seem wise.

Will there be any new characters?

No new characters have been revealed yet. In fact, hardly any information regarding season four exists at all. Two characters though are getting significantly less screen time thanks to the death of Brody, that being his wife and daughter, played by Morena Baccarin and Morgan Saylor respectively.

Is Saul's character being written off or given a smaller role?

Apparently Saul is set to make a return in the fourth season. He won't be at the CIA headquarters in Langley, however, according to Alex Gansa.

"Everybody should rest assured that Mandy Patinkin is coming back as a series regular," showrunner Gansa tells EW. "I can tell you that with 100 percent certainty. Although he's not at a desk at Langley anymore, the CIA does outsource a lot of jobs to private contractors. He's going to be in that circle, he's still in the intelligence-gathering profession and the CIA could use somebody of his immense skills and knowledge for various intelligence work."

What will the plot center on?

Carrie's character will certainly be the main focus of season four, barring a miraculous return by Brody. It looks like Homeland will be spending a lot of time abroad since Carrie is set to become a caseworker in Istanbul, Turkey. Of course, the season hasn't even been written yet; writers need a break once in awhile. However, when they get back to the grind more information may surface.
