Khloe Kardashian received major backlash after she posted a photo to Instagram with the message "Pray for Baltimore" on Monday.

The 30-year-old reality star uploaded the picture following Freddie Gray's funeral after peaceful protests regarding his death began to spiral out of control into violent riots. However, although the pic received over 400,000 "likes," she received a number of negative comments about it.

According to WetPaint, some critics called the Kardashian racist while others noted she could not relate to the turmoil going on in Baltimore since she was raised in a family of wealth and privilege.

Meanwhile, other people wrote that she should direct her attention and prayers to the victims suffering in Nepal.

In response, Khloe deleted the picture from her Instragram page, but struck back at her critics on Twitter.

"Y'all are too much," she said. "Damned if I do. Damned if I don't. So now it's wrong to pray? What is wrong with some of you guys? Let me pray for YOU."

On the other hand, some people responded with support for the TV personality, like one person who wrote "Thank you! Our city appreciates and needs every prayer it can get right now."

The string of protests sparked after Freddie Gray, a 25-year-old black man, died of as severe and critical neck injury on April 19, exactly seven days after he was apprehended by Baltimore police. According to officials, Gray made eye contact with an officer and then fled the scene on the morning of Sunday, April 12. He was then chased by the officers, some of whom were patrolling the neighborhood on bike. Once they caught up to him, he was taken into custody for carrying a switchblade knife.

On Friday, it was announced that the six officers involved in his arrest would face criminal charges. His death was also ruled as a homicide, reports CNN.
