Powerball Numbers & Results May 2, 2015: Watch Live Stream Of Drawing For $70 Million Jackpot
Saturday’s chance at winning big at Powerball is here.
There was no grand prize winner last week so the money has rolled over and is now up to $70 million dollars, with a current estimated Jackpot of $46.5 million in cash value.
The winning number on Wednesday were 1, 26, 34, 38, 51 and 6.
There were 360,138 regular winners and there was $5,553,585 in non jackpot money awarded.
The chances of winning the grand prize are 1 in 175,223,510, and the chances $1,100,000 are 1 in 5,153,632.65. But however remote winning big time might seem, people are doing it.
On April 29 Staten Island Live reported that a lottery player who had claimed to have purchased a $136 million jackpot-winning Powerball ticket at a 7-Eleven was seeking to cash in the winning ticket.
Lee Park, a spokesman for New York State Gaming Commission said via email, "I can confirm that someone has come forward to claim the prize."
The spokesman would not say who the winner was, explaining that all that information would be publicly announced in the next few weeks.
Elsewhere, on the west coast, it was reported by the Los Angeles Daily News on April 30 that someone who had purchased a ticket in Santa Monica was now sitting was $600,140 in unclaimed money. The winning ticket matched five out of six numbers drawn, which were 26, 1, 38, 34 and 51, and was only lacking the Powerball number: 6.
The lottery specifies that if the ticket is not turned in within 180, the $600,140 will go to help California schools. Lottery games played in the state of California are a major source of funding for public schools and colleges, so playing is always kind of win-win.
